Tipitap #4 User research: surveys

I created a survey to find out how people communicated with social media and which is the most popular social media site. I put it on a google form so it was easily accessible, and I could get the results graphically. The questionnaire was designed to ease the way the person thinks more about how they use social media per question starting with closed multiple-choice questions leading them into open-ended questions that I could use the answers to add to the game as a feature.

To see how representative my sample was, the questionnaire starts with personal questions asking about their age and ethnicity. The following questions were to get an idea of how many people would interact with a particular social media so I could create something from that statistic that was the duration of that statistic.

I realised it wasn’t as useful as I thought it would be after I conducted the questionnaire. I had a few responses that could have been more if I offered some sort of incentive but also the way I framed the questions gave me answers that were reasonable but not entirely accurate.
