Printing money workshop

We had a workshop on printing money and learnt about the process. I found it really interesting finding out the different methods used to create a note and to see test if a note is fake just from leaving it in water or even scanning the note with a UV light. As well as, hearing the reasoning behind why creating a note would require a number of steps to prevent printing fake copies. What I found more interesting was learning about banks such as the Bank of England holds a reserve to correlate the value to the pound. But, this exists with other currencies too. I had so many questions for Ling that she could no longer answer my questions and I began researching on reserves and how currencies are valued when the currency is fiat.
