Digital currency #7

Having listened to the feedback of actually creating the tokens, I decided to 3D print them. Using the designs I had, I exported them as an SVG, extruded them on a 3D model of a coin and saved them as an STL file. Then, using Netfabb I double checked my models to see if they could be 3D printed and arranged the coins in Cura for them to be printed. Creating these coins took longer than expected (15 coins took at least 1 hour 30 mins) since I didn’t have experience with 3D modelling for printing it was challenging. Especially when holes in the design were not recognisable in Netfabb. Also, the technicians were not familiar with Maya so they fixed the design on Rhino, which is a future project I will test out. Additionally, for some reason when exporting a file as an STL on Maya it would go blank so instead, I exported it as an obj but using a website called greentokens.de, which I found out about on Youtube I was able to export it as an STL file. TheThe process overall was time-consuming since my models were faulty but I learnt in the future to check my design beforehand than during my printing session as it is limited. Also, since the colour of the coins is different to my original colours, the colours on the board were slightly changed so they could compliment each other.Link to a video with tips I created for 3D printing: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1c9VQkESSBmCnOysi-XXLOS5l7VVnJdx8/view

In conclusion, the process into creating the board game was challenging into coming up with the idea as well as learning a new skill of 3D modelling for printing. If I was to continue this project I would actually produce the board and find less generalised events.
