Using the game of checkers by transforming the board for four players to represent the four strongest currencies which impact the financial market: Dollar, Pound, Euro and Yuan. Originally the board looked exactly
like a checkers board but with an extension on the sides and cards with events on them that happened in the real world were provided with a dice strategically relating the event to the players next move when they captured another player. When given feedback, I was told to make those events more obvious and actually show them on the board making the game less abstract. In doing so, I created the checkers board circular with the central bank being in the centre as the design of the board would be functional and colour coded some of the squares like a traffic light: green, red and orange, based on how serious the event could be correlated with cards of the same colour. The one feedback I gathered was that the outline of the colour on the cards were too thin so I would I have to make them thicker to appear more visible. If I was to continue with this project further I would create expansion packs for particular conflicts such as the currency war between America and China, so then the events wouldn’t be so generalised.
