Having been inspired by the original game of monopoly – Landlord’s game. Invented in 1904 by Elizabeth Magie “The game was created to be a “practical demonstration of the present system of land grabbing with all its usual outcomes and consequences”. She based the game on the economic principles of Georgism, a system proposed by Henry George, with the object of demonstrating how rents enrich property owners and impoverish tenants. She knew that some people could find it hard to understand why this happened and what might be done about it, and she thought that if Georgist ideas were put into the concrete form of a game, they might be easier to demonstrate. Magie also hoped that when played by children the game would provoke their

natural suspicion of unfairness, and that they might carry this awareness into adulthood.[3][4] The Landlord’s Game has some similarities to the basic rules of the board game Zohn Ahl, played by the Kiowa Indians of North America. There are hints that suggest Elizabeth Magie might have known Zohn Ahl and incorporated some of the game’s ideas.[5]” (‘The Landlord’s Game’, 2019) Using her vision of showing how the system is transparent, I wanted to demonstrate how the currency war is happening by the forex currencies (Pound, Dollar, Euro and Yen). Using the traditional game of checkers and dice to present chance with cards (of generalised events which affect currencies) when an opponent is taken. As well as, having a central bank which holds all currencies and plays a part with the use of the cards and numbers rolled out. Below, are pictured possible designs and a mind map of some research.

These designs were inspired by the online live game slither.io and agar.io but instead of different snake patterns the user could pick from different currencies. But, adding particular events would not work with the game.
